Landscape Of Taroko
Taroko’s marble gorge is a unique and extraordinary sight, with impressive geological history. 250 million years ago the gorge was sedimentary rock on the sea floor. After being subject to high temperatures, compression and metamorphosis, compact, hard marble was formed. Four million years ago, the combination of the uplifting of orogeny and down cutting by the Liwu River created the U shaped gorge with almost vertical sides we see today. Around 250 years ago, the Taroko people migrated from the Zhuoshui River area in Nantou and settled on the river terraces of the Liwu River. They lived with the forest and learned from nature. Landscape of Taroko is a microfilm. In the film, Surang, a Taroko tribe stone sculptress, leads viewers into Taroko, giving them an aesthetic experience of the unparalleled beauty and marks of time of the gorge, also inviting viewers to treasure this precious and irreplaceable treasure of the earth.
