Andreas Ewels is a German filmmaker, ZDF-journalist and director. Born and raised in Muenster (Westphalia), he later studied in Cologne and Los Angeles. Within 25 years of filmmaking, he has traveled more than 100 countries and produced over 200 long documentaries. Many of them received international awards. One strong focus of his cinematic work is the protection of nature. Privately, he enjoys traveling and is also committed to environmental protection. Since 2000 he works mainly for ZDF and lives with his family in Wiesbaden.
